How to get the best out of your wedding florist
Here are my top 5 tips for getting the most out of your wedding florist…
Choose wisely. Just like wedding dress shops sell different styles of wedding dresses, florists also have very different styles and ways of creating arrangements. Spend some time on instagram, looking at a range of florists and their previous work. This will help you to gain a better understanding of what you like and dislike. Make sure you choose a florist whose previous work you like as this will make it much easier for both you and your florist when discussing your vision.
Assess what is important to you. It’s easier to choose a florist when you know what are the most important factors for you. Perhaps this is cost of the flowers, whether the florist uses sustainable practices or how flower-full the arrangements are.
Be prepared. Whilst it’s not necessary to know exactly what you want it can be helpful to start with some ideas. This could be the types of colours you’d like to include, textures and shape of your bouquet or even how you would like your flowers to tie in with the style of your wedding. Have a look through Pinterest and Instagram to find for inspiration photos and share these with your florist.
Be open to different flower options. You may have a good idea of which flowers you like and it’s great to share these preferences with your florist. Also be open to including other options too. There are so many flower varieties out there, some of which you may never have heard of.
Allow your florist to guide you. Now you have chosen the florist who most aligns with your style, you have given them an idea of the types of things you like and dislike, you can sit back and allow your florist to guide you. Florists work best when they are allow creative control within your brief - this will allow them to choose the best flower combination for the season.
